- Confirming eligibility for funding opportunities and recruitment for committees or special appointments within the scope of the Tri-Agency Policy on Indigenous Citizenship and Membership Affirmation;
- Affirmation information may be shared between CIHR, NSERC, and SSHRC to facilitate the affirmation processes should you apply to multiple agencies;
- Future program design and delivery, results measurement and reporting purposes;
- In the content of an allegation of misrepresentation, share information with the Secretariat on Responsible Conduct of Research in accordance with the
Tri-Agency Framework: Responsible Conduct of Research and with the integrity Advisory Committee (IAC) in accordance with the Tri-Agency
Policy and
Directive on Indigenous Citizenship and Membership Affirmation;
- Your information may also be shared with the claimed Indigenous collective to confirm citizenship or membership and in the case of an allegation of misrepresentation to allow the collective to confirm or refute membership or citizenship, to provide an impact statement and recommendations on recourse to the Integrity Advisory Committee; or if additional validation is required to support an affirmation under Option 2 (Personal Statement with Supporting Documentation and Reference).
The submission of affirmation documentation is required in order for your application to be considered.
Privacy Practices
Depending on the program, your personal information collected through this site will be stored on SSHRC, NSERC, or CIHR corporate systems and databases as indicated in SSHRC
InfoSource Chapter – Bank number: SSHRC PPU 055 or SSHRC PPU 016, in NSERC’s
InfoSource Chapter – Bank number: NSERC PPU 060, and in CIHR
InfoSource Chapter – Bank number: CIHR PPU 005 and CIHR PPU 025. The information collected will be retained and disposed of in accordance with CIHR, NSERC, SSHRC’s respective retention and disposition schedule and in alignment and consultation with
Multi Institutional Disposition Authorization
by Library and Archives Canada. The personal information you provide will be kept confidential and will not be used or disclosed for any other purposes without your consent or as may be required by law.
Your information will only be shared with the claimed Indigenous collective for the purposes outlined above and only if the collective has entered into an information sharing arrangement with SSHRC, NSERC or CIHR. Under such an arrangement, the Indigenous collective will be subject to the same measures as the agencies in the protection of privacy and the management of your personal information.
